Pictureworks partners Alibaba Cloud’s AI platform to elevate digital imaging within the tourism industry of the SEA region

Pictureworks, a leading provider of innovative photography imaging solutions has announced a collaboration with Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group.

This partnership aims to enhance digital imaging solutions and improve the visitor experience in theme parks, attractions, and the tourism industry, marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

With applications already live across seven major tourist attractions in Asia and additional projects in progress, Pictureworks’s utilization of Alibaba Cloud’s secure and powerful cloud and AI technologies has produced over 150,000 photos at an award-winning theme park in Hong Kong.

Pictureworks has integrated Alibaba Cloud’s extensive AI and cloud technology to revolutionize photo capture processes. The key solutions include Alibaba Cloud’s Platform for Artificial Intelligence (PAI), Function Compute, and Object Storage Services (OSS).

• Alibaba Cloud’s PAI: Simplifies the machine learning lifecycle by providing a fully managed service for deploying machine learning models. This allows Pictureworks to quickly adjust AI models as needed.

• Function Compute: Enables Pictureworks to build a serverless architecture, removing the need for infrastructure management, increasing agility, and reducing operational overhead. The pay-as-you-go model ensures cost-effectiveness based on actual compute time used for AI imaging.

• OSS: Serves as transient storage for raw photos, generating notifications when new files arrive and triggering the appropriate processes within Function Compute. It is also charged based on the actual storage used.

These technological advancements provide Pictureworks with greater flexibility in capturing high-quality images in various settings, positioning it at the forefront of technological evolution and ensuring its services remain competitive in the global market.
